Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) nominee for president in the general elections of 2023, denied rumours that he has left the party.
Atiku emphasised his steadfast allegiance to the PDP by dismissing the report as a blatant falsehood.
Atiku said in a statement posted on his X account on Tuesday that reports that he had left the PDP were untrue and the work of negative individuals.
"I have been inundated with calls regarding the fabricated story in The Nation, Tinubu's ragtag, alleging my departure from the @OfficialPDPNig," the writer said, addressing the concerns of Nigerians and party members.
I want to be clear: there is no truth to this; it is just pure malicious behaviour. I reiterate my strong loyalty to the PDP and call for the immediate unification of all opposition parties. There is no way to emphasise how urgent this consolidation is.
He attacked President Bola Tinubu, saying that he put his own goals ahead of the good of the country.
Atiku also said that his media staff is hard at work debunking the false rumour that he is quitting the PDP.
It is obvious that Tinubu is pursuing his own goals at the expense of the country's government. His focused concentrate on 2027 reveals a
disregard for the the public's urgent needs. It's time he stopped his foolish excursions and put the wellbeing of the populace first.
"My PR staff is strongly debunking his false allegations. Let this serve as a warning to everyone: the necessity of efficient government cannot be overshadowed by the desire for power. Let's move Nigeria forward as a team and put an end to the political charlatans' antics.
