Adanma Luke, a well-known film producer, strongly criticises TC Okafor for exploiting the tragic death of his colleague, Junior Pope.
To add context, TC Okafor was one of the fortunate survivors of a tragic boat accident in April that killed Junior Pope and several other crew members. Instead of showing sympathy to the occurrence, TC Okafor chose to generate content centred on the tragedy. This decision did not set well with Adanma Luke, who stated her distaste firmly. Adanma Luke reminded stated that TC Okafor had always had envy towards Junior Pope and had even discussed his intentions of entering the industry before the outstanding actor's sad
death.
She wrote:
So it’s actually true you now use this whole incident for content. You told your colleagues on set how you came to the industry before Jp and how you were the one that wrote his name for him on his first audition now his playing lead ahead of you. The envy and jealousy in the industry is on another level. Hopefully this incident makes you the super star you wanted so desperately.”
