Tyson Fury's rematch with Oleksandr Usyk is slated on December 21 in Saudi Arabia. This highly anticipated fight comes after Fury's first professional loss earlier this month, when Usyk defeated him via split decision in Riyadh to become the undisputed heavyweight champion. Usyk's victory gives him the IBF, WBO, WBA, and WBC titles, making him the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
Despite the loss, Fury believed he did enough to win the fight. However, two of the three judges favoured Usyk, notably after he landed a strong overhand left in the ninth round, prompting referee Mark Nelson to issue a standing count against Fury. Initially, Fury's promoter, Frank Warren, had concern about a rematch, implying that Fury would retire. However, Saudi Arabia's sports administration have announced that the rematch will take place towards the end of the year.
