Asue Ighodalo, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State, has expressed dissatisfaction with the delay in the delivery of election materials.
Speaking with reporters after casting his ballot in Ward 1, PU 3, Ewohimi, Esan South East LGA, the PDP candidate stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission had plenty of time to prepare for the poll.
He stated, "I am dissatisfied with the procedure that delayed the delivery of the materials. This election only takes place in one state. INEC has plenty of time to prepare.
We're not pleased with the small pranks that are going on. There are suspicions that some in the opposition are attempting to destabilise the electoral process. Several people have been caught using...
"The worst is that they go about attempting to purchase votes. They pay between $15 and $20,000 for votes. They are doing everything possible to disrupt the process. We shall win this election by a landslide and lead our state ahead by God's grace. If anyone is home, please come out and vote.

The Nigerian military has made me proud. They have taken command and demonstrated major responsibility. They have demonstrated that they can protect the people, and I am extremely proud. We're not worried. We spent 10 months talking to them and telling them what we would do for them if they elected us.
"The people believed us and accepted us across the state. I'm not sure what magic anyone will perform.

The figures I'm hearing from Edo North, Central, and South are overwhelming. Funny things happen in Nigeria. I'm not sure what magic anyone wants to perform.
"I think INEC will conduct free and fair elections until they prove otherwise. We will clearly win this election."
Speaking further, Ighodalo said that the Nigeria Police Force is oppressing and intimidating his party members.
He stated, "We are not pleased with a few ongoing challenges in some areas, but we will remain optimistic. One of our supporters was arrested at Uromi by security personnel.

No one should bring a gun into a polling centre. It is against the law. It violates the regulations. People behave indiscriminately, oppressing and intimidating our people. It will not happen. We cannot be intimidated.
"How come only PDP supporters were arrested? Every day, you see APC supporters doing the most incredible things. However, nobody arrests them. Nobody investigates them.
"The arrestee was at his polling station attempting to be accredited. He was lining up to get accredited. Authorities should create a level playing field. This is becoming too much, especially from the police force".
