JUST IN: A court has requested that Ibok-Ete Ibas, the only administrator of Rivers State, be fired.

The nomination of Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Rtd) as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State is being contested in a lawsuit filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Attorney Johnmary Jideobi of Abuja filed the lawsuit on Tuesday, March 25, with the filing number FHC/ABJ/CS/572/2025.

He is pleading with the court to rule that Ibas' appointment was invalid and unconstitutional.

The goal of Jideobi's lawsuit is to declare all of Ibas's decisions and activities in his role as sole administrator unlawful.

He asserts that such an appointment is unconstitutional and ought to be revoked nationwide in Nigeria.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's choice to name Ibas as Sole Administrator after Governor Sim Fubara and other officials were suspended is the source of the controversy.
