Omoyele Sowore, a presidential candidate and activist, has accused the Local Government Inspector (LGI) of Eti-Osa LGA of fleeing after meeting with Ushie Rita Uguamaye, also known as Raye, and her legal team for a scheduled disciplinary meeting. Raye, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, recently went viral for a controversial video in which she criticised President Bola Tinubu's government and referred to Lagos as a "smelly state," prompting widespread outrage. Ushie Rita was scheduled to appear for a disciplinary hearing on Monday, accompanied by Sowore and his legal representatives, as previously stated on X (formerly Twitter). However, in an update posted on the same platform, Sowore stated that the LGI was nowhere to be found when they arrived.
We came at the @officialnyscng's Eti-Osa LGI offices in Lagos with youth Corper Ushie Rita Uguamaye. She was supposed to appear before the LGI today, and we escorted her to their offices with attorneys @mrfestusogun, @yinka_oyesomi, and @justiceojienoh, but the LGI official had fled, failing to appear throughout our stay," Sowore said. The NYSC board has yet to publish a formal statement about the apparent absence of the LGI or the following steps in Raye's case.
