On Monday, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, overthrew Elon Musk to reclaim the title of richest man in the world according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
The tracker estimates that Bezos is worth $200 billion, more than the CEO of Tesla's $198 billion.
Musk, who also serves as the CEO of SpaceX and X (previously Twitter), has seen a decrease in wealth of over $30 billion due to a 25% decline in the price of Tesla's shares in recent months.Musk's problems got worse when the court in January decided to void his massive $55.8 billion Tesla pay deal, which was first signed in 2018.
Bezos, who is no longer in charge of Amazon, has benefited from the company's increasing stock price in that time.
Despite having recently sold off $8.5 billion in equities, he still holds the largest stakeholder position in the company's board of directors.
With a net worth of $197 billion, Frenchman Bernard Arnault, the CEO of LVMH, is still ranked third among the world's richest people.
