According to the US Geological Survey, a magnitude-4.8 earthquake struck the northeastern United States at 10:23 a.m. on Friday, April 5, generating shaking from Philadelphia to Boston and shaking skyscrapers in Manhattan and throughout the five boroughs.
The United States Geological Survey reports that the centre of the earthquake was close to Lebanon, New Jersey, about 50 miles west of New York City. As a result, businesses' ceramics shaking and frightened people ran into the streets only to see cars, trees, and the ground moving.
Video footage captured the building shaking during the earthquake that happened during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.
